Sal Pantezzi

AYSO Hall of Famer - Class of 2003

Sal is a model volunteer for AYSO.  When Sal says he "loves the organization," it's not just an expression.  AYSO is in his blood and the organization has benefited from his energy and commitment in a variety of capacities for more than 25 years.

Sal was the founder of AYSO Region 200, which is the town of North Salem, Westchester County, New York.  While Regional Commissioner there for six years, he was also coaching, refereeing and training.  More responsibilities followed, including Section Director for the Northeast U.S. for five years and National Board Member from 1986 to 1998.

Sal's marketing expertise and vision increased AYSO's recognition in the marketplace and the American soccer scene, specifically by introducing and promoting alternate funding through affinity marketing and corporate sponsorships. He also championed the partnership between AYSO and the National Soccer Hall of Fame. He continues to volunteer in Section Three, where he currently serves as Section Three Developer. His abiding dedication to AYSO philosophies continues to provide guidance and assistance to emerging groups of volunteers. Sal and his wife, Gail, an ardent enthusiast of AYSO, live in North  Salem, N.Y. Their three children, Noelle, Paige and Todd, all participated in AYSO Region 200.
