Like so many other
AYSO volunteers, Steve Karinshak has served
in numerous AYSO volunteer positions, including regional
commissioner, section director, national treasurer and national
president. Although Steve began his AYSO experience in southern
California it was a career move to Spartanburg, S.C., that moved
his volunteer life into high gear. he gained national
exposure first as the Section five (Southeastern U.S.)
director. His enthusiasm and commitment to provide excellent
programs stamped him as a "doer" and his corporate
experience served him well in achieving AYSO goals. He was elected to the National Board of Directors in
May 1984 and was elected president in 1989, a position he held
until 1992.
Steve has been
a tireless spokesman for AYSO. His hard work and commitment
have played a significant role in the growth and expansion of
AYSO. A steadfast golfer, Steve and his wife reside in
Mount Pleasant, S.C.
