Dennis is the former President of Anheuser Busch, Inc., is now President of Long Holdings, Inc.

Long served as the Chief Operating Officer of the brewing subsidiary of Anheuser Busch Companies, Inc., from 1977 to 1987 with responsibility for all brewing, packaging, shipping, administration, and marketing throughout the United States. Under his direction the company maintained and strengthened its position as the world's largest brewer, doubling beer sales volume and quadrupling earnings per share.

From 1972-1977, Long served as Group Vice President of Anheuser Busch with full responsibility for the company's non-beer businesses, including Busch Entertainment, Inc. (Busch Gardens); Busch Properties Inc. (Kingsmill on the James) and the Industrial Products Divisions (baker's yeast and corn products). Under Long's guidance all four subsidiaries achieved record sales and profit growth.

Long holds a number of National and International awards, including the De LaSalle Medal from Manhattan College, New York; the Distinguished alumni Award from Washington University; St. Louis; the "Man of the Year" award from the Mercy Fund, Dublin, Ireland; Ambassador of the Year for the city of St. Louis; the John F. Kennedy Award from the National Conference of the Ancient Order of Hibernians; the Catholic Council Community Achievement Award; and the United States Secretary of Defense Medal for Outstanding Public Service, the highest honor that can be awarded a civilian by the United States, for his work as a Worldwide Chairman of the U.S.O.

Long has been honored as the "Irish American of the Year" by Irish America Magazine, New York; is a member of the St. Louis Hall of Fame; the Hall of Fame at St. Louis University. He is a recipient of the Royal Hawaiian Medallion of Honor from the Royal Hawaiian Medallion of Honor Board of Governors; and received the Commissioners Award from the Major Indoor Soccer League.

Long attended St. Louis Parochial school and Washington University College. He is married, father of three, grandfather of ten and lives in St. Louis.

On the coaching level he coached more than 600 games with over 500 victories, including several league and state championships and one USA district championship. As an administrator he served as counselor to the founders of both the North American Soccer League and the Major Indoor Soccer League. As president of Anheuser-Busch Inc., he developed Budweiser's world-wide support for the game and was chairman of the committee that built St. Louis Soccer Park and led Anheuser-Busch's move to purchase the facility. He also acted as an ambassador for the sport playing as host to FIFA president Dr. Joao Havelange and his delegation on their fact finding mission for the 1994 FIFA World Cup.
