Born: May 25, 1898 - Philadelphia, PA

Ten players from his 1936 team were selected for the United States Olympic team that year. President of the ASL from 1942 to 1945, (and Vice President for seven years after), Emil had a significant impact on the growth of the league and its ability to persevere in the challenging war years when so many players were called away for military service. He later coached numerous ASL select teams in significant exhibition matches against touring European teams, to great success. Served with the USSF in 1950 as director of promotions and publicity.  Also a member of the Pennsylvania Soccer Hall of Fame. Known as “the quiet one”, rarely speaking in a raised voice regardless of what was taking place on the field or in the meeting room.
