arrived in the United States in 1906 with his family
and settled in the Kensington district of Philadelphia.

It was in Kensington that he made his name
as a prolific scorer first with Thomas Potter Public School, then later with
the famous Lighthouse Boys' Club teams for four years before moving on to
Sun Shipbuilding and then the Fairhill club from 1918 to 1920. Retired as a player in 1936 but from
1931 had become the owner-manager of the Fairhill club and an officer of
the Allied and Pennsylvania leagues. Harry and two others from the Philadelphia Old Timers
Association started what is now the National Soccer Hall of Fame in 1950
and administered it until 1953 when it was taken over by the USSFA.
