record for the most goals in a single Women's World Cup when they scored
25 in
1991 (China). The largest
margin of victory in a Women's World Cup match happened
twice. Sweden beat Japan 8-0 (1991-China), and Norway over
Nigeria 8-0 (1995-Sweden).
In the
1995 Women's World Cup Norway only allowed one
(1) goal throughout the entire tournament (outscoring
their opponents 23-1 in six matches).

Michelle Akers of the United States holds the record for most goals
